Biography

Borned in Barcelona(Spain), Marta Guasch has made his music studies at the "Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu" in Barcelona (Spain), with Salvador Lopez, and at the "Conservatori Superior Municipal de Música" in  Barcelona (Spain), where she obtained her degree in saxophone, with Adolf Ventas. Later she studied at the "Conservatoire National de Region de Cergy-Pontoise" in Paris (France), with Jean-Yves Fourmeau, where she obtained the gold medal in saxophone as well as the gold medal and the prize of perfection of chamber music, and at "Indiana University" in Bloomington (U.S.A.), where she obtained a "Performer Diploma" on saxophone with Eugènne Rousseau in conducting with Pol Mc Govern and arranging bands. She has done his PHD in music at the University of Barcelona (Spain).

                     

She has been awarded in several international saxophone  and chamber music competitions. She has accomplished improvement saxophone studies with Fréderic Perrin, Daniel Deffayet and Claude Delangle.                      

 

She was a member of the "Young Symphonic Band of the European Communities" and the "young Orchestra of St. Cugat"; soloist of the "New Music Orchestra of Sabadell", the "Sax Orchestra of Netherlands" and the "Symphony Orchestra of St. Cugat del Vallès". She was a founding member of the trio MonMarTres. Currently a duo with pianist Monica Pons and is leader of the quartet Marta Guasch Sax Quartet. She has participated in several CD recordings as a soloist and with many ensembles.                    

 

She has given concerts in Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Switzerland, Andorra, Norway, the Netherlands and the United States. She has recorded for R.N.E., R.T.V.A., Barcelona Radio, Radio Luxembourg and T.V.C ..                      

 

Marta Guasch has always been combining her work as a soloist with education, as a saxophone professor at the "Conservatory of Andorra" (andorra), guest professor at the "Conservatory of Hilversum" (Netherlands), professor of the "Conservatory of St. Cugat" (Spain) and in the University of Andorra (Andorra), and currently is teaching saxophone at the Music School of Barcelona (Spain), at the Professional Musical Center in Terrassa (Spain) and she has her SaxAula for superior students in Navarcles (Spain).

Sax Aula

Sax Aula is a space dedicated to any saxophone students, whereas midle grade saxophonists can prepare their entrance into superior conservatories , where superior grade saxophonists can be prepared as soloists and get help to pass exams. Sax Aula is not only a place to come to get classes, students received advice at any level.

 

Marta is not only a teacher, she is a coach for her students.

 

Classes can be made in Spanish, French, English or Catalán.
